There are certain combinations of words that are used together as word pairs. A very common one is “safe and sound” and it is used to describe being well.
For example:
- The climbers were found safe and sound after 2 days of search.
- There was a car accident but thankfully everybody left the scene safe and sound. It’s a miracle nobody got hurt.
- As long as I know you are safe and sound, I’m happy.
